About

Elford Homes is owned and managed by Nick Misselke who has over 25 years’ experience in the property sector.

He started his career in land acquisition with McCarthy & Stone, the specialist retirement homes company, identifying and finding land in suitable locations for people seeking retirement in many fine cities.

Nick subsequently worked for several PLC house builders including Wimpey Homes and Crest Nicholson. He understands the complications and intricacies of planning departments and planning legislation, covenants and restrictive clauses, as well as understanding the need for additional homes within the blueprints and local development plans for local authorities.

Over the past 25 years Elford Homes has created many different types of dwellings which include:

  • A range of highly sought-after eco barns which include rainwater harvesting tanks, under floor heating powered by ground-sourced heat pumps
  • Luxury dwellings with high specification finishes
  • Smaller cottages with sympathetic design to the local area
  • Conversion of older 1970s buildings to modern, efficient dwellings

To ensure the finished home works well in its environment, Nick works with a dedicated team of architects, architectural technicians, planning consultants, ecological consultants and environmental specialists.

Nick also appreciates the time involved to secure the optimum planning permission for the right dwellings and has worked on a consultancy basis on several projects where land owners have preferred to develop the sites themselves.
